from walking.about.com
How can you dress for comfort on a winter walk? I have a head to toe, underwear to outerwear advice on what to wear. You will find two key concepts: cotton is not your friend, and layers are your friend.

Get Your Butt in Gear: NiteSweatz Workout Thong
from fitsugar.com
I grew up hearing that thongs are not good for, ahem, down there. I don't really want to get into details but it has something to do with a lethal combo of yeast, and moisture. This meant sleeping and working out in a thong were a big no-no.

Time for Walking Sandals!
from walking.about.com
Is it time to give your tootsies some air? Many walkers like walking in sandals, and here are my tips on finding the right sandals for walking and hiking. As with any walking shoe, it is important to find a good fit and to test the walking sandals at shorter distances and with or without socks.
Is your booty singing my favorite song?
from thatsfit.com
Clumsy girls like me rejoice!
Finally a solution to keep my mp3 player from constantly crashing to the floor. I've put the darn thing in my shorts pocket, on the little ledge of whatever machine I'm using, and I've even tucked it into my bra. Without fail, my teeny little music machine is guaranteed to make its way to the floor with the batteries and door scattered around the gym.
Nike Hatphone - Warm Tunes
from fitsugar.com
Move, groove, and stay warm in the Nike Women's Soft Shell Therma-FIT Hatphones Cap. The website doesn't explain much, but when I called Nike, I found out that inside the hat, there is a pocket for your Nano. There are headphone speakers inside (these can be removed before washing) that have a cord that connects to your Nano. The wires are all hidden in the hat, so you don't have to bother with dangling wires.
Cold Comfort: Taking a layered approach to winter running
from runnersworld.com
Heading out the door for a winter run often means facing nasty conditions-rain, snow, sleet, bitter winds-that can turn a short jog into an unbearable slog. The best strategy for keeping warm and dry without overheating is to wear a base layer, a thermal layer, and (if necessary) an outer layer. This combination helps trap warm air next to your body, and as you heat up, the breathable materials and vented designs of these tops allow you to cool down without shedding clothes.

from fitsugar.com
Now that the days are shorter many of us who work full time jobs have to run in the dark (before work or after). A great pant to have on hand (or leg) is the IllumiNITE Olympic Trac Pant ($39.99). These pants are so great because they have highly reflective parts that can been seen easily by motorists. They are also breathable, which is not always the case for reflective gear. Don't always run outdoors?
My Favorite Winter Walking Hat
from walking.about.com
I was in a panic on Saturday morning when I still couldn't find my Sub4 DRYLYTE Extreme Cold Hat to pack with me for the Las Vegas Half Marathon. I gave up and packed along an earband to go over a regular hat. So, when I saw the Sub4 booth at the marathon Expo, I squealed and stampeded past several scrawny runners to see whether they had my favorite hat for sale.
Slip into the "wearable robot suit"
From infinitylabs.com
Ever want your own personal mech? The Land Walker, a Wearable Robot Suit developed by Masaaki Nagumo stands more than 10 feet tall and is able to walk forward, backward, and sideways. The giant mech is controlled by four petals inside the cockpit. Instead of railguns and missles the Landwalker features two airguns that shoot spung bullets at your enemy. You can own one for $313,985, a bit pricey indeed, however showing up to your neighbors barbecue in a 10 foot robot is priceless.
Outside's "Gear of the Year": Trail Runners...and more
From Outside
Switch Hitter
Not counting genetic mutants like ultramarathoner Dean Karnazes—who could probably jog a century in flip-flops—the rest of us need trail runners that can go from dirt to rock to road and do it gracefully. The Vasque Blur accomplishes that trick and then some. The hybrid gave us quick toe-offs whether we were running up Colorado's Longs Peak or racing across hardpack flats, and its stability smoothed out the rockiest descents. This Gear of the Year winner actually made average runners feel like they could run with Karnazes—at least for an hour or two.
