HTC just went live with their Touch Cruise. "Touch" as in that TouchFLO interface, "Cruise" as in GPS-enabled. The third addition to HTC's Touch lineup packs HSDPA, WiFi, Bluetooth, a 3 megapixel camera, microSD expansion, and a 2.8-inch touch-screen lying on top of a Windows Mobile 6 foundation. Oh, and it's loaded with TomTom Navigator 6 software to make the most of that GPS receiver.

Top 10 Walking Gadgets
from walking.about.com
I am a gadget lover. I want data. I want something to play with while I walk. These gizmos will help you plan or track a better walking workout.
1) Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS Personal Trainer
The Forerunner uses a GPS to get true distance and speed, and a chest strap heart rate monitor. Garmin improved on the Forerunner 201 by adding a heart rate monitor and upgrading the software into a Training Center, and upgraded mapping abilities - you can now download and overlay your workout to a map. The GPS works only outdoors, and the 205 and 305 models promise better performance than the 201 in areas with lots of trees or tall buildings or in gullies.

VidaOne MySportTraining GPS for Measuring Outdoor Fitness Workouts
![]()
I've personally been marathon-training for a few months now and let me tell you, when you start getting to a point where your long runs starts to exceed 10 miles/16 km, you really feel the need to explore new routes; unfortunately, doing so while still being able to easily track your workout progress and overall routine can be a real challenge. I've personally resorted to a specialized fitness watch from Polar, but if you own PocketPC/GPS hardware, MySportTraining can provide a wide range of information for a lot less than those pricey commercialized alternatives. One of its coolest features is the ability to view your routes afterwards via Google Maps.

In The Zone: Is the Forerunner 305 for You?
I LOVE toys. There's nothing I like more than playing with a new piece of technology that promises to give me data.
That's why I was so excited to get a review unit of the Garmin Forerunner 305 to try out for a month. The GPS unit promised more accurate positioning than my Polar 625X speed and distance system. I also wanted to try the motionbased.com web site where you can upload sessions and use map overlays. More about that in my next blog.
While the units may be a bit pricey for the average consumer (305 goes for about $375 and has a heart rate monitor. The 205 is about $100 less) The units provide a dizzying array of information.
Rumor: Next Apple OS to track stolen iPods?
Sounds like Apple is warming up to the Big Brother image after all. Remember folks, this is a RUMOR (or "rumour" for our UK readers). From T3 , "the world's No.1 gadget mag."(click image to enlarge)
Mac OS X’s next incarnation could use GPS to track stolen hardware, thanks to new mapping software from Apple.
WKO+ from CyclingPeaks: "ultimate workout analysis software"
Cycling Peaks Software bills its WKO+ system as the "Ultimate Analysis Software." And the software certainly covers many bases. Combine WKO+ with hardware monitoring devices, such as a GPS reader, heart rate monitor, widely-available cycle odometers, and more, and you can track your training progress in fine-grained detail....just the thing for competitive cyclists, serious runners, and triatheletes, not to mention coaches. CyclingPeaks WKO+ is just one of many software tools the company offers for refining and improving the tracking of fitness activity with desktop tools.
GPS and heart rate publishing
I have a hard time exercising unless there's some type of cool technology involved. jnielsen posted his heart rate and GPS info from the Ironman Arizona triathlon race. "I used my Garim 301 for the entire race and loaded it up to motionbased.com . The GPS has the distance almost dead on. Check it out - but no cracking on my time:) It's a pretty cool tool - I actually swam a pretty straight line!". Links to the individual maps and data here. Posted by Phillip Torrone
